How China ADAS System Competitive in the world

Since April of this year, when the bus AEB was forced to be installed, the domestic ADAS (automatic driving assistance system) industry has caught up with the outbreak of policy dividend, almost a whole year of activity.

Although it is still some time before the real scale of automatic driving technology is spread, the direction of the whole automobile industry is to use intelligent technology to improve the safety and comfort of automobile driving and meet higher user expectations.

In addition, the overall cold of the Chinese automobile market, the main engine manufacturers are investing in ADAS and layout, hoping to get rid of the low sales volume in the cold winter. Seeing and implementing intelligent ADAS products can undoubtedly stimulate the excitement of mass consumption.

One trend is that ADAS products, which can only be seen in domestic high-end models before, can increasingly be seen in low-end models.

It is estimated that the global ADAS market size will reach 27.5 billion euros (212.3 billion yuan) in 2025. In China, the market size will reach 96.3 billion yuan in 2020, with an average annual compound growth rate of 52%, far exceeding the growth rate of the international market.

However, what does not match the high expectations and broad prospects of users is that the existing ADAS products can not well cope with most of the traffic scenes with domestic characteristics, and the products are basically controlled and monopolized by international auto parts suppliers such as Autoliv, Bosch, Continental, Delphi, Mobileye, etc. The acclimatization of foreign products is also reflected in the ADAS industry.

Therefore, before foreign ADAS suppliers understand and pay attention to the outbreak of domestic ADAS market, and carry out localization layout again, domestic ADAS suppliers are faced with certain time window and policy dividend.

Can local enterprises wait for the opportunity to realize the voice of ADAS industry from scratch?

Adas's acclimatization to China

The reason why ADAS is more and more popular is that the ADAS system can sense the surrounding environment with the help of sensors arranged in the body, give a warning when the vehicle is in danger and carry out error correction in specific scenarios, so as to provide comfortable driving experience under the premise of ensuring safety.

Therefore, it is a test of the ability of ADAS products to identify the surrounding environment and take countermeasures.

But as Zhu Xichan, director of the Institute of automotive safety technology, Tongji University School of automobile, said, China's ADAS industry standards are transformed from European and American standards, which can not well reflect the road traffic characteristics with Chinese characteristics.

According to xinzhijia, at present, the European and American standards only cover 46% of China's road scenes, and there are many special circumstances, such as the E-bike emerging at any time, which are not mentioned in the European and American standards. Therefore, ADAS products developed in accordance with European and American standards can not well perceive the special road scene in China, and the measures taken are limited.

As a result, the existing ADAS products can only be put on the shelf because of the unavailability of the scene and the "pitiful taste of food".

This view has also been recognized by Chang'an automobile. He Jigang, general manager of Chang'an Automobile Intelligent Research Institute, said that users have high expectations for existing ADAS products, but there are also many complaints.

This problem is not unsolved, but depends on the attitude of ADAS supplier, and whether it can provide local technical support and rapid service response for the host plant.

As far as xinzhijia is concerned, although foreign ADAS suppliers have accumulated many years of technology and experience, these capabilities are usually in foreign countries, and the relatively slow response speed of foreign ADAS suppliers' services has basically become the industry consensus.

If in the traditional automobile era, even if the product is not so adaptable and the service response is slow, it is still within the scope of acceptance of the main engine factory.
